#9: Air Force Athletics partnered with SYNLawn to install a 1,400-square-foot artificial turf putting green inside Falcon Stadium underneath the north endzone scoreboard. The installation debuted as an interactive fan experience option. #2: The Protect College Sports Act has surpassed the 60-vote threshold to proceed through the first of three procedural votes. Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger on next steps: “One day’s time (and 60 votes) is required between each vote. Leaders are targeting mid-next week for the final vote.” (link)
#1: Florida State has parted ways with VP/AD Michael Alford and appointed Senior Assoc. AD for Football Bruce Warwick as Interim AD while conducting a national search for a permanent successor. Board of Trustees Chairman Peter Collins: “Changes like this are never easy, but sometimes necessary. We have made significant investments and structural changes in our athletics program and Seminole Boosters over the past few years, but more are needed. This step begins the next phase of restructuring that the University must commit to in order to compete in this era of college sports.
