The Big Ten has officially banned NFL players from returning to the conference, with the league specifically preventing “football players who have signed a professional contract, were on a professional roster at any point or declared for the NFL Draft as an underclassman without withdrawing, from maintaining eligibility for athletic competition at a conference institution.” More. Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger: “SEC presidents are expected to direct ADs against accepting pro players - under threat of penalty. Per bylaws, [Commissioner] Greg Sankey and/or presidents hold authority to deem a player ineligible, fine/suspend coaches, etc.” An anonymous individual told Dellenger: “This is Sankey’s ‘Sorsby Moment.’” (link)

Designed to simulate crowd noise at “eardrum-shattering decibels,” the system utilizes three loudspeakers attached to light poles at each corner of the practice field, replacing the old portable speakers that didn’t pack the same wallop.
