Miami (OH), James Madison and UConn have reportedly contacted the American about becoming members, per On3’s Brett McMurphy and Pete Nakos. Miami and JMU are supposedly seeking full league membership, with the RedHawks reportedly offering $30-40M to join the conference. In the SEC’s federal court filing against LSU, the institution and its named defendants, President Wade Rousse, AD Verge Ausberry, LSU Board of Supervisors members and Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill, filed a motion to dismiss, citing no personal jurisdiction over the defendants, while noting the complaint “fails to state a claim upon which relief can be granted,” per Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger, who adds: “SEC and LSU legal teams have been in negotiations this week in an attempt to strike a mutual resolution that would end the legal battle, sources tell Yahoo Sports. The FBS Oversight Committee is asking the DI Cabinet to amend a July Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee proposal to also expand scouting restrictions to FBS football staff. Originally designed to prohibit men’s basketball staff members from attending other DI preseason, regular-season or conference tournament games, with limited exceptions, the revised measure would prohibit FBS football staff from scouting other DI contests in person, including those involving teams that aren’t future opponents.
